I could go on an on about how Camille Eterno will be there for the members of the UFT. I can write how she has outstanding knowledge of the UFT and all the issues that will encompass being president of the union. That it is a given that Camille will roll her her sleeves and do the hard work necessary to be an effective leader of the union.
But just, if not more importantly,is the type of person Camille is.
Most of my interactions with Camille have been at an ICE meeting at a dinner in Manhattan. Camille is passionate about what issues we face as teachers and the lack of support we get from the UFT. When she speaks, she commands the listeners, but not by being hyperbolic, animated, or any drama. She comes across as serene and cool yet amazingly strong. This is what the UFT is missing and so desperately needs.
With Camille we can be assured of having a true leader of the UFT. A leader who will be there for the rank and file and we will have a President, not some Overlord.

I collected signatures at my school to get her and UFC on the ballot. I've been spreading the word hard to my staff to vote for UFT. Those in the know MUST spread the word. Only way to beat Mulgrew is to mail you ballot in for UFC.
I remember that meeting, Peter. That's where we met Lydia for the first time too I think.

Hi. I'm a big fan of your blog. I live in Stamford, Connecticut and today your BFF, Stephanie Edmonds is on the front cover of the Stamford Advocate newspaper. Apparently she is now yammering with a group called Stamford Parents United who are against mask mandates in schools. I could care less about masks in schools. However, I found it funny that she has jumped to a new town to spew her views. I wonder if she dropped the fake Bronx accent now that she is back in Connecticut. Is she even a parent with children in the Stamford Public Schools?
Arthur’s Blog post on not voting for UFC didn’t help. I get it. MORE went off the rails and similar to Unitys way or no way but it’s a coalition of all. MORE is just 1 faction of it. Although they did create negative blood with lots. Maybe they can get kicked out of UFC as a little karma justice.
